After being in the game and especially being an assistant organizer to a liar for a while, i deciding to gather up some knowledge of the experiences i've had and make a post about it. Our lair is only about a year old now but still going on.
First, the process starts after reading up in the game and trying to find others like you. For some reason, most established lairs become secretive after awhile and make it difficult to find or allow new members in. It happened when I was looking and to be honest is probably happening to us. But organizing a new lair is not that difficult.
I would say it probably only requires atleast 2 active members, but 4 would probably be preferable. There are the Lair lists out there to advertise new members as well as forums and now this site, lol. We used Meetup.com to advertise our public sarges, while having a private forum for the established members. After showing up a few times, we gave access to the new member our private forum. You'll find that most poeple don't show up and when they do they probably won't return. Alot of AFC's dont even bother reading up any of the material, hear something maybe on TV, and then show up to the group expecting miracles to happen. Having a public area to filter out people whop aren't serious is a great way to keep your serious members more involved.
Once you get going, you can plan your sarges to either meetup at a local bar or at someones apartment or house. If its public, make sure at least 2 of your guys plan to be there on time to gather up any newbies, make sure they are easily identifiable. An apartment is more preferred in my opinion, that way people can show up whenever they feel like it and everyone else can just chiill. We usually watch some DVD's of the gurus to get amped, share materials, and sometimes bring a pivot to do some role playing. This is awesome to get some of your newer guys more socially in tune before we go out and sarge. Of course, nobody likes opening up there place to a bunch of strangers. So sometimes public venues are the only option. Try to get one with a private room if that is the case, most venues are more than accomadating since it brings them in more money (dinner, drinks, etc.)
Having a Lair can also gives you the ability for group buying/purchasing bootcamps and instructions from some of the gurus. It doesnt have to be a master guru to be beneficial, sometimes it works to have some of the lesser known gurus when they come to town, and may only work out to be a couple hundred bucks per person.
There are many different fun options for themes when you go out sarging. One of our favorites is the populer have everyone give 100 bucks to their wingman and they get $20 back for each open. Often we'll make such games mandatory for the sarge to insure everyone gets the most of their sarge. People may be nervous at first, but they'll also will be thankful later after their approach anxiety is gone, cuz believe me they WILL get their money back. Another one is to have a mock bachelor party and each person gets a printout of different dares and challenges that they get points for completeting. Also a GREAT way to open sets and set the mood right.
One thing to watch out for, as you get going you run into the danger of cock farming, as 10+ dudes all show up hoping to pickup some chicks and all clinging to each other at the club. Some good measures to take are to branch off after the intial meeting, whether in different groups in the same venue or different venues entirely. Also, place the upmost importance on pivots and social proof. Whether they are knowing or unknowing. Especially if you start getting a big group going it only makes everyone's social proof go up togethor, and everyone involved can expand their social circle with new chicks and gaming opportutinies.
So anybody on here thats still having trouble finding lairs or other PUA's in their area, don't be afraid to start your own group if you havent found one yet. I would definitely say that is the single most thing you can do to improve your game and your social life all togethor. I gotta thank all my bros for getting me involved. lol
