Game time fellow PUAers!  Here's a little background; I first learned about the existence of PUAism December of '08.  Prior to that I could never put my finger on why I was just another frustrated chump that couldn't pick up a decent girl to save my life.  Thanks to Mystery's reality show-"The pick-up artist" my eyes have been blown wide open and my brain has never been so stimulated and from December '08-last week(jan 30, '09) I have been developing the skill to the foundation of who I now call SERIOUS.

Here's my roadmap to success based off of Neil Struass's (Style) model

Early Dec. '08-Hear about and watch "The pick-up Artist 2" after a friend suggested I check it out.  I was hooked after the first episode and watched the entire first and second season in two days via the internet.

Early Dec. '08-Feeling empty, I craved more knowledge and information about becoming a PUA  myself so I googled "PUA" and uncovered an entire interstellar world in existance right under my nose.  Not to get overstimulated by the wealth of information (not to mention hoards of spam mail to that try to get you to buy into every small piece of information), I checked the internet for books exclusively on being a pick-up artist.  Now of course Mystery's "Mystery Method" (which I just ordered today) was my first choice, however Neil Stuass's "The Game" for some reason was calling out to me (I'm glad I read this one first) and I think I read this one in about a week.

Mid Dec. '08-Now craving even more (the world of Pick-up is like eating chinese food) I had become intrigued with "NLP" something I read about in Neil's book but had to google because I didn't quite understand what it was or how useful it would be not only in helping me step up my game with women but also as something that has so far made a huge impact on me personally.  Anyways, after I googled "NLP" I ended up coming across an affordable NLP practitioner training course in Austin (I live in San Antonio) which I signed up to take beginning Jan '09.

Mid Dec-Jan 17 '09-I found and signed onto this forum (awesome site btw), figured the name I would adapt when I was ready to make the transition (with the help of my friends).  Set up my email as "Serious-PUA@live.com", SERIOUS is the name PUA is the game.  Chrismas, New Years, family stuff...

January 17-The NLP practitioner training BLEW MY MIND!!! I didn't think I would get so much out of the two days of a 16 day program but I did.  Now that I understand what NLP is and how and why it works (Now I model success) I am now able to link NLP to not only PUA but also to real estate (my profession), and to successful confident people in general.

Break State-Now that we're caught up on a little history let me share with you my mind frame right now....I Am Unstoppable!.

Stay tuned for my field report labeled "Serious-Field Report 1", for now enjoy a break down of recommendations on becoming a PUA-

1. Watch Mystery's "The Pick-up Artist", both seasons if you have access or money to buy the dvd's.  This will help you get a basic idea of what you're in for.

2. Read Neil Strauss's "The Game".  He does a good job pointing out the mistakes and traps of becoming a PUA so you can learn from this book things to avoid throughout your journey (become aware of the addiction).

3. Work on your avatar, choose a name (ask a friend for suggestions).  This is Mystery's deal so do it!

4. Learn everything you can about the PUA world.  Sign up for the free emails from David De'Angelo, Style, become friends with Neil Strauss on myspace and watch the challenge videos on his page.  Check out http://www.seductiontuition.com/, it's loaded with openers loads and loads of stuff to use and learn.

5.  Sign up for an NLP course anywhere you can go to do it in person-the youtube videos do no justice.  You won't regret it.

6.  Recommended reading: "Unstoppable Confindence-Using NLP" by Kent Sayre (I recommend reading this after understanding what NLP really is and what it can do for you.

Feel Free to email me with comments or ideas.  I'm also looking for a wingman in San Antonio or Austin so let's get out here and start sarging!

I've dabbled in NLP but havent studied it very rigourously. It's funny becuase its pretty much the "originator" of the game, but its still one area that is most often overlooked.

I'll start off saying that I too swear by NLP but not because of it's value in the field; but because of the impact it has made on me personally.  When I first began to actually understand NLP, I notice immediate changes in how I see the world for example:

Imagine what a lock looks like when it's locked...this is your brain--->Now imagine the key to that lock...the key is NLP.  So if you haven't made the connection yet, NLP pretty much unlocks your brain and put everything into a new perspective.

As I mentioned before I've only completed two days of NLP practitioner training, but in just those two days I've been able to grasp the basic concepts as well as associate and model success...although I haven't been through the modeling portion of the training, so far I've only covered, Anchoring, Rapport, and Behavioral Techniques (One of these I try in the field, stay tuned for my field report 1.2).

To fully answer your question; Yes, NLP can definetly be effective in the field and can be used to pick up women, but you have to be careful because it can back-fire if you don't know what your doing, or in my case need more practice.  However, I highly suggest you get some hands with NLP and use google to find if there are any NLP workshops/training in your area.  Do this and suddently the world isn't such a scary place anymore.

How good is the NLP stuff? I never really encountered it in real life but see alot people swear by it on the forums.  The people i do know who studied it kinda say its very subtle and not really a magic bullet or anything, but they could just be doing it wrong.

You really see the results that they say it does?

Oh I definetly agree and it's taken me about two months doing all the reading and such just learning about "the game".  I went out last weekend and put what I've been learning to the test, I have just yet to post my field report.  But just a tip off that I have a date with a young HB7 I ran the routines on tonight, so I'll be double posting soon!  Stay tuned....

can I add a tip number 7....

7. Start going out... Reading is one thing, but actually doing stuff is another. I wasted alot of time (about 2 years) just reading, becuase all these theories are really interesting, but I learned the most from the last few months when I started going out and practicing what I had learned (Ten times more fun aswell).

Best of luck in "the game", Ill be wiating for your next field report .

Keep it UP!
